Sausalito

Another day trip ... not too far from San Francisco is the lovely town of Sausalito. Historically known for bootlegging, rum running and ship building, today it's a great destination for lunch after crossing the Golden Gate Bridge. The houseboat community is unique, and the waterfront with it's restaurants and art galleries reminded my husband of the south of France.
